AP CM sympathises with two photo journalists

Hyderabad, July 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today expressed sympathies for two photo journalists whose cameras were damaged while shooting pictures of the police lathicharge on activists of Left parties laying a siege to the Collectorate yesterday.

Promising to consider providing compensation to the lensmen from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, Dr Reddy advised them to maintain ''safe distance'' while covering such incidents.

Videographers of TV channels also faced professional hazards like this, he noted at a press conference here.

He observed that certain ''anti-social'' elements infilitrated into yesterday's stir by the Left parties.

According to information received by him, some of the agitators had targetted policemen discharging their duties, Dr Reddy added.
