5.37 lakh acres of AP govt land grabbed by unscrupulous elements

Hyderabad, July 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh government today identified that unscrupulous elements have grabbed 5.37 lakh acres of government land and started taking actions to recover it, state Minister for Revenue Dharmana Prasada Rao said.

Replying in a debate, on government lands and related issues including recommendations of Koneru Ranga Rao Committee, the Minister said the government had already issued notices to the grabbers of 3.57 lakh acres of land.

Several members alleged that if the lands of Hindu temples and Wakf properties occupied by influential persons were recovered, it would sufficient to distribute to all the poor people.

The government was doing the same, he added.
