14th GGMA Fair in Ahmedabad from tomorrow

Ahmedabad, July 27 (UNI) A three-day 14th Gujarat Garment Manufacturers Association (GGMA) Fair has been organised here beginning tomorrow.

Over 150 leading ready-made garment manufacturers from Gujarat and neighbouring states are participating in the fair which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Talking to mediapersons here today, GGMA president Sunil Gandhi said the show has attracted over 15,000 probable retailers from the country. Besides, over 100 buyers are expected to visit the fair from America, Europe, Gulf, Africa, Russia and other countries.

Mr Gandhi said, the fair has been organised with primary objective to promote garments business by bridging the gap between manufacturers and retail buyers.

Mr Gandhi said the GGMA has urged the State Government to set up an ''Apparel Park'' in Ahmedabad which can house over 500 manufacturers.

Mr Gandhi said the GGMA, which provides employment to over 300,000 people, has capacity to employ over 900,000 workers but there is a lack of skilled workers.
