Putin praises Kalam's role in strengthening Indo-Russian ties

Moscow, July 26 (UNI) Russian President Vladimir Putin has highly praised former President A P J Abdul Kalam for his ''joint fruitful work'' during his tenure for strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.

''During this time, due to joint efforts our countries succeeded in substantially expanding the perspectives of bilateral cooperation, achieving qualitatively new levels of cooperation in different fields,'' Putin said in a telegram message to Kalam, the Kremlin press service reported today.

'In this obvious success, we see your significant individual contribution,' Putin noted.

'In future also, we count on your continued support to the course for further development of Russian-Indian partnership,' he said.
