MDU, US varsity to set up joint research centre
Chandigarh, July 26: A delegation from the US-based George Washington University visited Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, to explore possibilities of setting up a joint research centre in frontier areas of Bio-informatics and Systems Biology and work out possibilities of joint studies and research.
MDU Vice-Chancellor R S Dhankar welcomed the foreign delegation and presented mementoes to the members of the delegation.
Prof Dhankar said the ground work for collaborative research was done during his visit to leading Canadian and US varsities during April-May this year. Prof. He said he had visited George Washington University too during his visit abroad.
Dr Krishna K Banandh from George Washington University threw light on the academic profile of his varsity. Prof Georges C St Laurent dwelt upon the frontier areas of Bio-informatics and Systems Biology where joint research and collaboration was possible. Prof Georges expressed the desire that joint studies and research on biological potential of Herbal Medicines and Ancient Indian Medicine System - Ayurveda could be initiated and a Joint Research centre can be established in this regard.
Elisha B Pulivarti, Executive Director, Maryland India Roundtable Council also spoke in the meeting.
