India needs to develop Intelligent Systems: Dr Aatre
Bangalore, July 26 (UNI) Indian scientists need to develop Intelligent systems that would enable them to learn and adopt to environment, set goals and achieve them, former Scientific Advisor to Defence Minister Dr V K Aatre said today.
Speaking at a symposium on 'Autonomous and Intelligent Systems', organised by PES School of Engineering here, he said so far the scientists were not able to build systems that simulate human intelligence and the architecture used was not good enough to build intelligent systems.
''Intelligent systems need inter-disciplinary inputs. Engineers are not enough to develop this technology and others. Cognitive scientists and cognitive psychologists, will have to work in unison with engineers to develop intelligent systems. The most important aspect of intelligent systems was that such systems should interact with environment,'' he stated.
Dr Aatre said an important ingradient of this technology was the development of sensor technology. The second aspect that needed attention was the software systems.
