CM assures discuss with PM on SC categorisation

Hyderabad, July 26 (UNI) Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi(MRPS) President Manda Krishna Madiga today said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy assured that he would discuss with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh the categorisation of Scheduled castes during the latter's visit to the State.

Talking to newspersons here after an MRPS delegation meeting with the Chief Minister he said the Chief Minisiter had told them that he would discuss with Prime Minister, who is coming here on July 31, early submission of the report by the Usha Mehra Commission appointed for categorisation of SCs.

He said the Chief Minister assured him to keep all the backlog posts in the government institutions till the submission of the report by the commission.

He said the MRPS demands were nothing new as the Chief Minister had committed himself to get the report of the Commission within two months.

He said the Chief Minister assured categorisation of SCs in educational institutions from the next academic year after the submission of the commission's report.

He said he had urged the Chief Minister to delegate powers to Mandal Revenue Officers to issue residential certificates for the sub-castes in the SCs instead of Revenue Divisonal Officers which was in force now.
