1090 pilgrims leave for Amarnath
Jammu, July 26: Another batch, comprising 1090 pilgrims,today left for the Pahalgam and Baltal base camps from where they will move for the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath in South Kashmir, official sources said here.
The convoy of 30 vehicles, including 26 buses and four light motor vehicles (lmv), left from the base camp of Maulana Azad Memorial (mam) Stadium amid tight security for Nunwan (pehalgam) and Baltal yatra camps at around 0500 hrs, they added.
The convoy included 728 men, 237 women, 25 children and 100 sadhus.
With today's batch, a total of 42,438 pilgrims have left for the holy shrine from the Jammu base camp since July 2, sources informed.
