US varsity exploring joint ventures in ayurveda with MDU

Rohtak, July 24 (UNI) A delegation from George Washington University of the US today visited Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), here to work-out setting up of a joint research centre in Bio-informatics and Systems Biology and joint studies and research.

In a meeting held today in M.D. University, Prof Georges C. St.

Laurent of the GWU, said that joint studies and research on biological potential of herbal medicines and ancient Indian medicine system -- Ayurveda could be initiated and a joint research centre could be established in this regard.

Bio-informatics and systems biology were the frontier areas where joint research and collaboration was possible, she said.

Dr. Krishna K. Banandh from GWU and Elisha B. Pulivarti, Executive Director, Maryland India Roundtable Council also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. R.S. Dhankar, while welcoming the team, recalled his visit to George Washington University earlier this year and presented mementoes to the members of the delegation of the occasion.

Post-Meeting, the delegation from George Washington University visited various departments of M.D. University.
