TRS accuses Speaker of ''siding'' with govt

Hyderabad, July 24 (UNI) The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) today alleged that Andhra Pradesh Asssembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy was ''siding'' with the government and not according sufficient time for the Opposition to raise issues in the House.

Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises, TRS Floor Leader K Vijaya Ramarao said the Speaker was not permitting the Opposition members to express their views on issues and instead, undue time was allotted to the members of ruling party.

He said the Speaker should safeguard the dignity of the House and treat all the members equally without showing any partiality.

Mr Nayani Narasimha Reddy, MLA, charged that precious time of the House was wasted on ''attacks'' and ''counter attacks'' by the treasury and the opposition benches.

CPI Floor Leader Ch Venkata Reddy said the Government and the TDP were ''wasting'' time by discussing the Obulapuaram Mining controversy without verifying facts.

BJP Floor Leader G Kishen Reddy alleged that Dr Reddy was criticising a section of the media to cover up the government's misdeeds.
