TN Min cleared in disproportionate wealth case
Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, July 24: A local court today acquitted Tamil Nadu Cooperative Minister Ko Si Mani in a disproportionate wealth case, holding that the prosecution had failed to prove the guilt beyond doubt.
Kumbakonam Chief Judicial Magistrate Sadasivam acquitted Mr Mani, his wife Krishna Vellaiammal (since deceased) and others, in the case.
Mr Mani was present in the court when the judgement was delivered.
The case was filed in 2003 by the previous AIADMK Government on the charge that Mr Mani possessed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Reacting to the judgement, Mr Mani told newspersons outside the court that justice had prevailed in the case.
