Ten feared drowned when a boat capsized midstream
Kahalgaon, Jul 24 (UNI) At least ten people were feared drowned when a boat capsized midstream in a tributary of the Ganges near Shankarpur village in between Ghogha and Sabor police station areas of Bhagalpur district today.
According to police, a small boat ferrying 16 people from Mamalkha village to the riverine area capsized midstream as it became imbalanced due to the high current of the river.
The sources said six people swam to safety while the rest ten feared drowned. The victims, including a women, were going to the reiverine area to collect fodder for the cattles.
Rescue operation had been launched under the supervision of the senior police and adminstrative officers.
