AP: 34 TDP members suspended from Assembly
Hyderabad, July 24: All members of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) present in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly were suspended today for disrupting the proceedings.
The TDP members were demanding an apology from Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for his 'objectionable' remarks against Leader of the Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu yesterday.
As soon as the House assembled for the day, angry TDP members rushed to the Well of the House and staged a sit-in to press their demand.
Speaker K R Suresh Reddy, after repeated appeals to the members to go back to their seats named them.
With the Speaker naming the TDP members, Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy, substituting for Legislative Affairs Minister K Rosaiah, moved the resolution for their suspension, which was adopted by a voice vote.
The suspended TDP members raising slogans against the government left the House.
