Take steps to get 50 pc seats in Pvt Med college: Narayansamy

Puducherry, July 24 (UNI) AICC general secretary V Narayanasamy, MP, today urged the territorial administration to take immediate steps to get 50 per cent seats in private medical colleges allocated for the government.

In a statement here, Mr Narayansamy said the Puducherry administration had implemented the Madras High Court order in respect of Plus One admission.

The Congress leader wondered why the administration failed to implement here, the order getting 65 per cent seats in private medical colleges and 50 per cent seats in minority colleges in Tamil Nadu.

He charged the private medical colleges with forming an association and blocking the admission guidelines here.

Mr Narayanasamy pointed out that the Tamil Nadu government had warned of stringent action if capitation fees was collected while the private medical college managements here were collecting Rs 20 to 25 lakh from each students with the administration remaining a mute spectator.

He demanded that the administration should take steps to get 50 per cent seats as announced in the assembly this year, failing which the people would lose faith in the Congress government here.
