SS-BJP MLAs stage 'dharna' against Narendra Dabholkar
Mumbai, July 24 (UNI) A group of Shiv Sena-BJP MLAs today staged a 'dharna' at the entrance of Vidhan Bhavan, demanding that Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti leader Narendra Dabholkar be ''thrown out of the state for his anti-Hindu stand''.
The protesters, led by Sunil Dhande of Shiv Sena from Beed district, squatted at the entrance of the Vidhan Bhavan and shouted slogans. The agitation lasted for about two hours.
Mr Dhande said Mr Dabholkar and his followers had made uncharitable remarks about Hindu religion, saints, deities and traditions. Hence, he and his supporters should be thrown out of the state.
He said Mr Dabholkar and his supporters are touring the Beed district and defaming Hindu religion through their meetings and lectures. Such acts have hurt the sentiments of the Hindus.
He said a memorandum would be given to Education Minister Vasant Purke, demanding that Mr Dabholkar be prevented from using any school in the state for his anti-Hindu speeches.
