School Headmaster charged with molesting student

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, July 24 (UNI) A XII standard student of a Government school here was allegedly molested by the school headmaster.

Police said the father of the student filed a complaint with the District Collector that Headmaster Sivamunusamy, in collusion with Assistant Headmaster Jikki, had harassed and misbehaved with many girl students. On July 17, Sivamunusamy had attempted to molest his daughter, he added in the complaint.

The Collector forwarded the complaint to the Education Department Officials in Chennai, following which he grilled Sivamunusamy, the school teachers and students for over five hours today.

However, Sivamunusamy claimed that the allegation was baseless.

The girls were speaking against him as he had taken to task some of them, for carrying obscene books, possessing love letters and whiling away time with boys, he added.
