Rajnath for enhancing ryots' purchasing power
Ujjain, MP, July 24 (UNI) BJP President Rajnath Singh today stressed on enhancing the purchasing power of farmers.
''Peasants are not even receiving their cost price and indebtedness is driving them to suicide. If the BJP comes to power, it will build an India where income disparity will be minimal. The rural-urban ratio has spiralled from 1:3 to 1:15,'' he said while addressing the valedictory session of the BJP Kisan Morcha's two-day National Executive meeting in this ancient temple town.
Pointing out that the urban-rural income gap led to a spurt in unemployment, Mr Singh demanded that loans availed by small and marginal cultivators be waived.
Firing a broadside at the Centre's UPA government he said, ''despite aping several developed countries, the regime has failed to fulfill ryots' needs.'' BJP state President Narendra Singh Tomar and Morcha President Vinod Pande also expressed their views.
