Power supply to water plants not snapped: Minister

Bhopal, July 24 (UNI) Energy Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya today told the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha that electricity supply to water supply system had not been disconnected in Alot area of Ratlam district though domestic connections of defaulting consumers had been snapped in many villages.

He was replying to a call attention notice moved by Mr Premchand Guddu (Cong), who claimed that power supply to 82 villages had been disconnected due to highhandedness of the State Electricity Board officials.

Mr Vijayvargiya also denied Mr Premchand's contention that electricity supply had been disconnected as cent per cent consumers had not paid their bills. He clarified that instructions had been issued to maintain supply to those consumers, who were regularly paying the bills. He also declined to hold inquiry against SEB officials.

The Minister said partial supply had been disconnected to defaulters, but no water supply system was affected by it.
