One Time Settlement Scheme for House Tax extended
Chandigarh, July 24 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to extend the One Time Settlement Scheme for exemption of penalty and interest amount on the arrears of House Tax and Water Charges for another three months upto September 30 in all the Municipal Committees, Municipal Councils and the Municipal Corporation, Faridabad of the State.
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had announced "One Time Settlement Scheme" to waive off surcharge on the arrears of House Tax and Water Charges in all the municipal areas of the state.
Under the scheme, the entire surcharge, interest or penalty is being waived off in case consumers deposit the actual amount of House Tax and Water Charges in lump sum or in instalments.
Minister of State for Urban Development Savitri Jindal said that the decision to extend the scheme had been taken in view of the overwhelming response of the people to the scheme. The scheme which was launched upto June 21 had now been extended upto September 30.
Ms Jindal said that total recoveries of over Rs 2.27 crore had been made after the launch of the scheme upto June 21.
