Patna, July 24 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today exuded confidence that Indo-Mauritius relations would be on trajectory note and get a new vista with his visit to that country.

Before leaving for Mauritius on five-day official visit, Mr Kumar held a meeting of his council of ministers and briefed them about the issues, which would be in focus during the talks with leaders and officers of that country.

''I hope that my visit will open the door of multi-dimensional support and co-operation from Mauritius for accelerating the pace of development in Bihar,'' he added.

Recalling the role of Biharis in development of Mauritius, Mr Kumar said centuries ago, thousands of people from the state had gone to that country and settled there ushering in the phase of hard labour to put the country on path of development and prosperity.

New generations of the people of Bihar, who had settled there years ago, are now in power and it is satisfying to visit there at this moment, he remarked.

''People of Mauritius are eagerly a waiting the arrival of artistes from Bihar, who are scheduled to participate in Bhojpuri Sammelan,'' Mr Kumar said adding the cultural ties of the state with that country would get strengthened by the visit.
