Bhopal, July 24 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government today denied in the Assembly, the allegations related to discrimination in the distribution of compensation in hailstorm-affected areas.

Raising the matter during the Question Hour, Satyadeo Katare (Cong) alleged that discriminatory attitude was adopted by distributing compensation in Bhind district, where only some people had received compensation.

Likewise, compensation amount was made available for distribution only in some Assembly segments and not in others.

Denying these allegations, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra said compensation was distributed in all the hailstorm-affected areas as per the provisions of Revenue Book Circular.

For the first time in the history of the state, a compensation of more than Rs 100 crore was distributed, Mr Mishra claimed.

Mr Katare interrupted the Minister while he was replying, and alleged that the discrimination took place. He also mentioned some names and cheque numbers.

However, Mr Mishra reiterated that discrimination did not take place and the government was ready to answer each and every question.

Later, Mr Katare demanded that the matter be handed over to Lokayukta for investigation.

Speaker Ishwardas Rohani asked if a relative of a political leader came into the category for claiming compensation, was he not entitled.
