Koirala greets Pratibha on her Prez poll victory

Kathmandu, July 24 (UNI) Nepal Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today congratulated and extended his best wishes to Ms Pratibha Patil on her election as the first woman President of the Republic of India.

In a congratulatory message, Mr Koirala expressed confidence that ''the long and friendly relations that have been happily subsisting between the two countries will be further strengthened and enhanced for the mutual benefits of the two countries and people during her tenure.'' The Prime Minister also wished her good health, happiness and success.

Mr Koirala is also the head of state in the interim constitution of Nepal as the king has been suspended.
