Idea Cellular Q1 net zooms 542.86 per cent

New Delhi, July 24: Telecom service provider Idea Cellular Ltd today said its net profit jumped by a whopping 542.86 per cent at Rs 193.31 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 as compared to Rs 30.07 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The total revenue increased to Rs 908.83 crore for Q1FY06 from Rs 597.47 crore during the same quarter ended June 30, 2007, a company statement said.

The Group has posted a net profit of Rs 308.52 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 as against Rs 85.93 crore in Q1FY06.

The total revenue also rose from Rs 902.26 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 to Rs 1,477.64 crore during the same quarter a year ago.
