Heroin and cocaine worth Rs 75 lakh seized in Kashmir

Srinagar, July 24 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police today arrested a smuggler and seized heroin and cocaine worth Rs 75 lakh in north Kashmir.

Sub-divisional Police Officer of Sumbal police station, Harmeet Singh said a specific information was received that some people were smuggling heroin and other drugs in Safapora area.

He said he headed a police team and raided a place recovering 700 grams of drugs valuing Rs 75 lakhs at an International market from the possession of a smuggler Mushtaq Ahmad Rather from Manasbal Lake in Sofapora area.

Police has registered a case, FIR No 162/2007, under section 8/20 of NDPS Act and arrested the accused.
