Compaq launches new range of desktops, notebooks
Mumbai, July 24 (UNI) Leading PC brand Hewlett-Packard India today launched its new range of desktops and notebooks, featuring its new brand identity.
The new Compaq brand identity is futuristic, making it stylish and contemporary--in sync with HP's philosophy of innovation and elegance. The new logo is a C and Q combined and also resembles a thought bubble which will be integrated into future marketing materials as a means to capture the possibilities technology enables and inspires for consumers.
Unveiling the new brand identity for Compaq, Satjiv Chahil Senior Vice-President-Global Marketing, PSG, Hewlett-Packard Company told media persons, ''As part of our on going strategy to support two distinct brands in the consumer space--HP Pavillon and Compaq Presario the company is introducing the refreshed modern re-design of the Compaq wordmark and logo to help further differentiate and define the Compaq brand.'' The CQ thought bubble will add new dimension to the 'Kal Tumhara Hai' campaign championed by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan bringing the empowerment proposition at the forefront for Compaq, he said.
Commenting his association with Compaq, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan said, ''Today a PC is a must for every household, for every child - in fact for everyone who has a dream and determination to achieve. The new Compaq Presario notebooks are built for lasting performance and ease of use. With the sleek appeal and product features that the new design has brought in, we are going to further build upon our achievemnts and make our dream of a Compaq for every household a reality.'' With the launch of the new Compaq portfolio, the company has strengthened its leadership position. HP leads the PC market in India with a market share of of 21.2 per cent in the PC space and 40.9 per cent in the portable space. HP is among the world's largest IT companies with revenue totalling USD 97.1 billion for the four fiscal quarters ended April 30 this year.
