Centre approves establishment of 'Tribal Study Centre'

Mysore, July 27 (UNI) The Union Government has approved setting up of a 'Tribal Study Centre' in the forest, outside Mysore, Lok Sabha member C H Vijayashankar said today.

Speaking at a review meeting of the Central Government sponsored projects here, he said that the Study Centre would take up Research on Tribals. It would also assist the Advasis to find a decent living, encouraging them to imnprove their social and economic base.

As per direction by the Centre, the Forest Department would plant Mango and other trees to enable the Tribals to earn their livelihood.

Referring to increase in wild animals attack on people and agricultural fields, he said that the Centre has asked the Forest Department to remove the solar fencing and go in for permanent fencing on the forest border.
