Ansari, Heptullah, Masood's nominations valid

New Delhi, July 24: The nomination papers of UPA-Left nominee Mohammad Hamid Ansari, NDA candidate Najma Heptullah and UNPA's Rasheed Masood for the Vice Presidential poll were found in order after scrutiny today.

''Three sets of nomination papers filed by Dr Ansari, two sets of papers of Dr Heptullah and one set of nomination papers filed by Mr Masood were found to be in perfect order, in all respects, at the time of scrutiny of nominations today,'' Returning Officer (RO) for the poll and Rajya Sabha Secretary General Yogendra Narain said.

He said a total of 46 sets of nomination papers had been received, out of which, 40 had been rejected.

The last date of withdrawal of nominations is July 26. Voting will be held on August 10 and counting will also take place the same day.
