Akal Takht holds Haryana govt responsible for Sirsa clash
Amritsar, July 24 (UNI) The Akal Takht, the highest temporal seat of Sikhism today held the Haryana government responsible for the "attack by Dera Sacha Sauda followers on Sikhs" at a village in Sirsa district this morning.
"It is a failure on the part of the intelligence agencies of Haryana for not being able to percieve the threat to Sikhs", a statement issued by the Akal Takht secretariat here stated.
"It seems that certain intelligence networks had a hand in this clash", the statement claimed while describing the Sirsa incident as unfortunate. The incident could have been avoided if the intelligence agencies had provided the necessary output to the administration, the statement added.
The statement asked the Haryana government to take immediate steps to protect the life and property of the Sikhs of the state and restore confidence in the community.
"If the government fails to check such type of violence, it will be answerable to the nation", the statement added.
The statement appealed to the Sikhs to maintain peace and amity and shun the path of violence.
