Nagaland: 3 injured in inter-factional clash
Kohima, Jul 24: At least three persons, including one civilian and two underground cadres, were injured in two separate gun battles here last evening.
Official sources said the NSCN (K) cadres attacked their rival NSCN-IM, who came in a taxi to attack them in the P R Hill area.
In the gun battle one NSCN-IM cadre was injured. The driver of the taxi, who was also hit by a stray bullet on his back, was rushed to a nearby nursing home.
On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and recovered one live and 15 empty shells of AK rifle ammunitions and one empty shell of M20 pistol from the spot.
In another incident, one cadre of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) was caught by suspected NSCN-IM cadres in the Agri Colony area and later shot him from point blank, but the FGN cadre survived and was rushed to a nearby hospital, sources said.
