Widespread condemnation against attack on media office
Mangalore, July 23 (UNI) Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists today held a 'rasta roko' at Hampankatta in the heart of the city and burnt an effigy to protest against last night's attack on the office of a private television channel at Bendurwell here.
Later, they also submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner urging him to take suitable action against the culprits. Meanwhile, the Congress, CPI (M) and All College Students' Union who held a protest rally in front of the DC's office, condemned the attack and demanded early action on the culprits.
The protest meeting was attended by DCC President and Former Minister B Ramanath Rai and CPI (M) Leader K R Sriyan among others.
Former Union Minister and Senior Congress Leader B Janardhan Poojary at a separate press conference here, also condemned the incident and demanded appropriate action against the culprits.
