Walt Disney appoints new head in India

Mumbai, July 23: Disney-ABC International Television (Asia- Pacific), an international TV distribution arm of The Walt Disney Company, today announced the appointment Swati Shetty as director for India.

She will be based in Mumbai and will handle the Disney-ABC International Television's TV distribution business across all platforms in India.

Earlier, Ms Shetty was Associate Director (Advertising and Sales) of Disney Channel, India.

Commenting on the new appointment, Disney-ABC International Television's VP (Sales for Asia Pacific) Greg Johnson said ''Swati's strong sales experience combined with her deep understanding of the Indian television market will be integral to the continued growth of our distribution business in India.'' Disney-ABC International Television (Asia-Pacific) is the international television distribution arm of The Walt Disney Company that licenses feature films, ABC News, animations and television series like 'Desperate Housewives', 'Lost', 'Grey's Anatomy', 'Ugly Betty' and 'The Amazing Race', the release added.
