Uma could contest Khargone

Khargone, MP, July 23 (UNI) Bharatiya Janshakti (BJ) Founder-President and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti today hinted that she might contest the Lok Sabha bypoll on the cards here.

''If I obtain anticipatory bail in the Ram Setu cases, I could be the nominee if the Central Executive proposes. I am undertaking a journey from Bhopal to Ayodhya on the Ram Setu issue and will go on a seven-day fast from tomorrow,'' she told mediapersons here.

Police in Rameswaram and Tiruchy registered cases against the firebrand sadhvi for allegedly making statements fuelling religious disharmony.

Ms Bharti has declared Mr Santosh Malviya as the BJ candidate from Sanver assembly constituency where a byelection has been necessitated by the demise of Minister Prakash Sonkar.
