'UK expulsion of Russian diplomats political'
Moscow, July 23: Britain's expulsion of four Russian diplomats because Moscow refused to extradite a man suspected of murdering ex-KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko was politically motivated, a senior Russian prosecutor said today.
Britain's reaction was 'plainly groundless, inappropriate, unjustified and lies exclusively in a political framework,' Alexander Zvyagintsev, Russia's deputy Prosecutor-General, told a news briefing.
''We refused extradition on the basis of the law.''
