Nagpur, July 23 (UNI) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief K S Sudershan, admitted to a hospital here on Thursday after suffering from a bout of fever, was discharged today.

Mr Sudershan left the hospital and returned to the RSS headquarters here this evening after doctors declared him fit.

''The Sarsanghachalak has no fever and no ailments,'' Dr H M Mardikar, director of the hospital where Mr Sudershan was treated told UNI.

Diagnosis had shown that Mr Sudershan had suffered from the bout of fever because of urinary tract infection, which was no longer there, he said.

Initially, Mr Sudershan had also been administered medication for malaria as a precaution due to the early symptoms that he showed, but he was not suffering from it, Dr Mardikar added.

The Sarsanghachalak had been admitted to hospital for a check-up as he had a running fever for the previous few days, which was not subsiding. Mr Sudershan had been taken to the hospital of a well-known cardiologist, triggering rumours that he had suffered a heart attack. His fever had subsided on Saturday, but doctors attending on him had decided not to discharge him immediately so as to observe the effect of the medication administered to him.
