Chennai: Samsung India sets up first Digital Zone
Chennai, Jul 23: Digital Technology leader, Samsung India today announced the setting up of its first Digital Zone in the city. It is an exclusive, interactive display of the company's digital imaging products.
Inaugurating the Digital Zone, Company's Deputy Managing Director R Zutshi said the Southern Region represented a key market for them in terms of printer sales and based on their consistent performance in the market, a decision had been taken to launch their first digital zone here.
Mr Zutshi said the digital zone seeks to provide a very interactive and life-style experience to the customers for their digital imaging products, he added.
He said they were planning to set up six more digital zones in metro cities of the country by the end of this year.
He said the company launched nine new models of printers, including two mono-laser printer models and colour-laser printer models. The flagship of the new range was being introduced today in the World's smallest and stylish colour laserwith, the brand name of MFP-CLX 2160 and ML-1630.
He claimed that the products adopted "USB direct function" to enable scanning and printing without a PC, and storing scanned images in USB memory, while popular image formats, like TIFF, BMP, JPEG, PDF, could be read and printed with the USB.
Mr Zutzhi said the price of the printers were priced in the range between Rs 4990 and Rs 1,44,990. Based on their considerably enhanced product line up, expansion of their distribution tie-ups and channel expansion, the company would expect to achieve a 20 per cent market share in the printer category this year, he added.
