Opposition conducts dharna against CM's remarks
Tirupati, July 23 (UNI) Condemning Chief Minister Y S Rajashekara Reddy's indecent remarks against the opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, TDP activists staged a dharna in front of the Gandhi statue near RTC bus stand here today.
TDP activists led by district leader G Srinivasulu, state leader Radhakrishna and Telugu Mahila leader Vijayalakshmi took out a procession to the Gandhi statue, where they shouted slogans against Chief Minister.
The remarks made by the Congress leader insulted the womanhood they alleged.
Later, they placed a copy of the memorandum before the statue of Gandhi.
Traffic came to a grinding halt for more than one hour, following the dharna.
