NC, PDP leaders condole legislator's demise

Srinagar, July 23 (UNI) Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Ministers Farooq Abdullah and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed besides presidents of the National Conference (NC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti respectively have expressed shock and grief over the demise of Poonch legislator G M Jan.

In a statement here, Dr Abdullah and the NC president expressed their heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the family of the deceased party leader.

In a separate statement, Mr Sayeed and Ms Mufti hailed late Jan's contribution toward the uplift of the people of his area.

They said his contribution in the political, social and economic emancipation of the people of Poonch area would be remembered for long. His death was a great loss to the political arena of the state, the PDP leaders said.

Expressing sympathies with the bereaved family, they prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
