Mild quake jolts Delhi region

New Delhi, July 23 (UNI) A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5 on the Richter scale struck Delhi and the adjoining region early today.

Besides the national capital, the quake also struck the Uttarkashi and Uttaranchal region at 0432 hrs, an India Metorological Department (IMD) release said.

The temblor was focused at 31.2 degrees north latitude and 78.2 degrees east longitude, the release added.

There was no immediate word on any fatalities or damage to property.
