Major anti-encroachment drive in Kanpur

Kanpur, July 23 (UNI) In a major anti-encroachment drive in this industrial city of Uttar Pradesh, the Municipal Corporation cleared land worth crores of rupees allegedly grabbed by land sharks.

Police said three Samajwadi Party leaders had grabbed land, worth crores during the party's rule in the state.

Accompanied by a strong posse of police, Municipal authorities cleared the land of all encroachments. The leaders could not be reached for comment.
