K'taka cabinet sets condition for starting SEZs
Bangalore, July 23 (UNI) The Katnataka Cabinet today sought promoters of Special Economic Zones to acquire land directly from farmers and return them 20 per cent of the developed land in lieu of monetary compensation.
Briefing newspersons after a cabinet meeting, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Basavaraj S Horatti said the government would give clearance for the setting up of SEZs only after the condition was fulfilled.
This condition would apply to farmers who give land measuring more than 0.25 acre, he added.
