Karnataka Legislative Council complets century tomorrow
Bangalore, July 23 (UNI) The Karnataka Legislative Council, the Upper House of the Karnataka Legislature, will complete its 100 years of existence tomorrow.
Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi would deliver a congratulatory speech on the occasion, Chairman of the House Prof B K Chandrashekhar said here today.
Making an announcement in the house, Prof Chandrashekhar said that to mark the historic event, a grand ceremony had been planned on August three and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was expected to participate in the celebrations. Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and his Deputy B S Yediyurappa would also be present on the occasion.
Opposition leader in the House H K Patil of Congress, while welcoming the Governor's presence on the historic occasion, appealed the chair to invite all the legislators and facilitate them to witness the event.
Prof Chandrashekhar also said that besides dignitaries Editors of both print and Electronic media had been invited to present on the occasion.
