Jansons mulls infrastructure development
Chennai, July 23 (UNI) The Jansons Group, a leading textile company, is planning an infrastructure investment of Rs five crore for setting up an additional unit and Rs 10 crore for 100 exclusive stores.
Launching the new brands of innerwears, sports wears and men's formal shirts in Tamil Nadu here today, its chairman T S Natarajan and Vice-Chairman T N Thiru Kumar told reporters that having set high standards in dhoties and lungies, the company decided to chalk out plans to retail their new range of products across the country by 2010.
In the first phase, the products would be made available in the southern states by 2007 end. Home textiles would be launched in a phased manner.
The company is projecting a sales turnover of Rs 250 crore by 2010-11, through the opening of proposed 100 exclusive stores.
Fabric weaving, printing, dyeing and processing were taken up in its units at Erode and Tiruchencode. The company has a market share of 60 to 65 per cent in dhoties and lungies.
Stating that they had set a target of Rs 150 crore turnover in this fiscal, they said it was Rs 100 crore in the previous year, of which 40 per cent came from export.
