Flurry of suspension in AP Assembly, Council

Hyderabad, July 23 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Assembly today witnessed a flurry of suspensions both in the morning and evening sessions, with members of the main opposition Telugu Desam Party being evicted from the house along with TRS members for obstructing the proceedings of the house.

In the morning, all the 22 TDP members, including Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu, were suspended for Question Hour for insisting on an all-party fact-finding committee on the iron ore mining lease to the Obulapuram mining company which was to put up South India's biggest steel plant.

All 13 TDP MLAs present in the House in the evening session were suspended when they stalled the proceedings over the Chief Minister's alleged objectionable remarks against Mr Naidu in the forenoon session.

In the morning session, 13 TRS MLAs were suspended from the House as they disrupted proceedings pressing for scrapping of GO 34, making mandatory the micro-irrigation methods in lift irrigation projects in the Telangana region.

In the Legislative Council, Council Chairman A Chakrapani suspended nine TDP MLCs for the question hour for plunging the Upper House into pandemonium over the Obulapuram Mining company issue.
