Five arrested in fake RTO license scam

Pune, July 23 (UNI) The City Crime Branch sleuths today nabbed five people allegedly involved in supplying illegal Road Transport Authority (RTO) documents in Pimpri.

Following a tip off, a Crime branch team, led by DCP Anil Kumbhare raided the RTO offices in Pimpri and nabbed five people who were allegedly issuing fake vehicle documents to their respective clients.

DCP Anil Kumbhare who conducted the raid said that besides those some others manage to escape.

There is a possiblity of an inter-State gang operating in different states issuing fake documents pertaining to all sorts of vehicles, he said.

The arrested were produced before the District Magistrate in Pimpri which remanded them in police custody till July 29, he added.
