Bhopal, July 23 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government today told the legislative assembly that the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has sought certain documents from the Registrar of Gwalior's Jiwaji University for investigating into complaints against its Vice-Chancellor Hoshiyar Singh.

When the matter was raised during Question Hour, Minister of State for Home Nagendra Singh said the Registrar has sought permission from Chancellor and Governor Balram Jakhar for providing documents to the EOW.

Mr Singh said the EOW could not conduct raid for obtaining these documents.

However, some members contended that the EOW could conduct raid in this case, as it does in other cases also.

In a written reply to main questioner Dhyanendra Singh (BJP), Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who also holds the Home portfolio, said a complaint was received against the Vice-Chancellor on April 27.
