CPI (M) plea on teacher transfers

Chennai, July 23 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Tamil Nadu today urged the state government to ensure transparency in transfer of teachers through counselling process.

In a statement here, CPI(M) State Secretary N Varadarajan said reports from various parts of the state about counselling held on July 21 and 22 were distressing.

The very purpose of organising counselling was to ensure the transfers took place in a transaparent manner without giving room for any complaint.

But reports suggested a number of teachers were denied transfers, he claimed.

He asked the government cancel counselling where complaints were received and order fresh counselling.
