AP CM upset with Speaker's decision
Hyderabad, July 23 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today expressed disappointment over Speaker K R Suresh Reddy giving permission to Leader of the Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu to intervene when he refused to yield.
''Without my yielding, calling the Opposition leader to speak is not correct,'' Dr Reddy told the Speaker during the discussion on the Obulapuram mining issue which rocked the State Assembly, leading to adjournment of the House twice and suspension of TDP members, including Mr Naidu during Question Hour.
He , however, hastened to add that the Speaker had the discretion to decide on the issue.
Dr Reddy wanted the Speaker to take the view of the House whether any member could intervene when the Chief Minister was on his feet and refused to yield.
As pandemonium continued, the Speaker adjourned the House till evening.
The Chief Minister also took strong objection to the gesticulation by Mr Naidu towards the Speaker when he was suspended from the House earlier in the day.
