Alert sounded in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar, July 23 (UNI) An alert was sounded today in Arunachal Pradesh in view of firings and explosions by insurgents in the state.

Papum Pare district Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bidol Tayeng here said some banned outfits and foreign agents had sneaked into here and Naharlagun with arms, ammunition and explosives few days ago.

Police were carrying out intensive checking of vehicles to avoid any untoward incidents, he added.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all sections of society not to panic and cooperate with the police.
