Accused constable held for molesting a woman

Kanpur, July 23 (UNI) One of the two constables, accused of criminally assaulting a woman, was arrested here today.

The woman had alleged she was molested by the two constables when she went to meet her husband, who is behind the bars, on July 18.

The accused, identified as Gyanendra Dubey and Shyampal, allegedly misguided the woman by assuring help to release her husband and later committed the crime in their government accomodation, police said.

While, Gyanendra had been arrested, the other is still absconding.

However, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abhay Kumar Prasad said the woman had been arrested earlier for obscene activities.
