TN: 21 injured in 2 separate road accidents

Chennai, July 23: Twenty-one people, including 19 women, were seriously injured in two separate road accidents at suburb Irumpuliyur near here this morning.

Police said 17 women, all employees of a garment unit at Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ), were seriously injured, when the van in which they were travelling collided with a lorry.

The injured were admitted to government hospital at Chrompet and nearby private hospitals.

In another accident, four people, including two women, were injured, when the van in which they were travelling fell into a road-side valley.

The van was proceeding to Koyambedu market from Thanjavur.

The injured were admitted to government hospital at Chrompet, police added.
